Overview
Delhi Daredevils (DD) will face the indomitable Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in what is supposed to be the last chance to keep their hopes alive in the tournament. Their fortunes are hanging by a thread and even if they manage to win all their remaining 4 matches, Delhi will end up with 14 points and will have to depend on other results to go their way. Though they would want to concentrate on this game first and chalk out the plans to get past the strong visiting outfit at the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium.
The hosts are unlikely to make a wholesale of changes to their side and back the group which has been doing well of late. Glenn Maxwell will get one more opportunity at the top after being run-out unluckily in the last game. Mohammed Shami might come back in place of Avesh Khan who has leaked runs in the last couple of matches. The onus will once again be on the Indian youngsters to take the team through as the likes of Plunkett and Christian are expected to chip in to make crucial contributions to the team’s cause.
Hyderabad would look to rest Bhuvneshwar Kumar in this game after the match-winning over he bowled against RCB. Also, Manish Pandey has got enough opportunities and they just can’t continue with him now as the talented Deepak Hooda is sitting out for him. The rest of the line-up should be the same with Basil Thampi coming in again. The team management will be extremely pleased with the way Yusuf Pathan has been playing in this season. He has finished matches with authority and would love to see him doing the same.
Probable 11
SRH- Alex Hales, Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson, Deepak Hooda, Wriddhiman Saha, Shakib Al Hasan, Yusuf Pathan, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma
DD- Prithvi Shaw, Colin Munro/Jason Roy/Gautam Gambhir/Maxwell, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Vijay Shankar, Daniel Christian, Rahul Tewatia/Jayant Yadav, Amit Mishra, Liam Plunkett, Mohammed Shami/Avesh Khan/Junior Dala, Trent Boult.
