Overview

After a resounding victory in the first match against Windies at Providence Stadium in Guyana, Bangladesh, unfortunately, couldn’t hold on to their ascendancy and slumped in the second encounter at the same venue. More than the defeat, Mashrafe Mortaza’s men would be disappointed for the reason that they allowed the home team to make a comeback after getting them by the scruff of their necks.

Sabbir Rahman is the only one with a questionable position in the side, having so far made just 15 runs in the two matches. But the reserve batsmen - Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Liton Das - are not prepared or seen as middle-order finishers. Unless the team management wants to risk picking Shanto, Sabbir will keep playing.

Overview

Bangladesh once again proved that ODI format is their comfort zone as they defeated Windies by 48 runs in the first of the 3-match ODI series. The visiting side was well behind the Caribbean during the Test series but made the difference straight away after the change in format.

Despite a big defeat, there is very less about which Windies could tinker towards their playing combination. All-rounder Rovman Powell, who didn’t bowl an over and bagged a duck in first ODI, could be replaced with a specialist batsman. They might also eye on getting in Keemo Paul who could be handy with his pace under lights.

Bangladesh wouldn’t like to change the winning combination but bringing Liton Das could give them some extra freedom for Tamim Iqbal to build the innings. Liton is known for playing his shots upfront, could come in place of Anamul Haque, who bagged a duck in the first ODI.

Overview

There's little to suggest the joyride won't continue on Sunday, but only a performance of Fakhar's kind again can elicit the same level of interest.

Zimbabwe don't have too many options on the bench that are likely to make a difference, or they'd have tried them out by now. They have lost with each combination they tried, evry game more convincingly than the last. They may make one or two changes, but a change in the result would be one of the upsets of the year.

Pakistan played two combinations across four games, and have played nearly every batting reserve on the bench other than Mohammad Hafeez and Haris Sohail - who had to return home after his daughter's illness. Mohammad Nawaz is the only bowler unused throughout the ODIs. There is a chance Hafeez and Nawaz could be given a chance, but Pakistan are doing so well anything they do looks like it might come off.

Probable 11

PAK- Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik/Mohammad Hafeez, Asif Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Yasir Shah/Mohammad Nawaz, Junaid Khan/Mohammad Amir/Hasan Ali, Usman Khan.

ZIM-  Hamilton Masakadza, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Tarisai Musakanda, Ryan Murray, Peter Moor/Prince Masvaure, Liam Roche/E Chigumbura,C Chigumbura, Donald Tiripano, T Chatara, Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarbani, Richard Ngarava/T Chisoro.

Players to watch
Azam, Zaman, Usman

Overview

Sri Lanka and South Africa will lock horns in the second and final Test match of the series at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. The visitors have all the running to do in this game as they are lagging behind after losing the first game with an abject surrender while facing quality spin bowling. A similar kind of pitch awaits them and they will have to fight their inner demons to come out on top against the island nation who are looking a formidable unit even in the absence of their regular Dinesh Chandimal.

There is no need for the hosts to tinker with their winning combination. Their opener Dimuth Karunaratne made a come back with a stunning performance in Galle. But the team management will be expecting more from the other batsmen as well this time around.

The bowling attack will be led by none other than Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera supported him excellently. Lakshan Sandakan is expected to retain his place and Suranga Lakmal continues to be the lone pacer in the line-up.

The visitors might consider bringing in an extra batsman for this game at the expense of Vernon Philander who struggled for the most parts in Galle. Theunis de Bruyn or Heinrich Klaasen is likely to replace him. There is also a possibility of Shaun von Berg to get a debut who will be the third spinner and can bat a bit as well. Their batsmen should somehow find a way to tackle the spinners which will make life easy for them eventually.

Probable 11

SL- Dimuth Karunaratne, Danushka Gunathilaka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Roshen Silva, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Dilruwan Perera, Rangana Herath, Suranga Lakmal, Lakshan Sandakan.

SA-  Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Faf du Plessis (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Theunis de Bruyn/Heinrich Klaasen/Shaun von Berg, Keshav Maharaj, Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi/Shaun von Berg.

Players to watch
Elgar, Mendis, Amla
