Overview
England will take on the West Indies in the first match of the five-match ODI series at Manchester tomorrow. Old Trafford will be hosting an ODI after two years. While the Windies pulled off a stunning win against the English a few days ago in the T20s, the 50-over format is going to be a different ball game altogether.
After a good rest, big guns Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali are back into the English team. Seamers Chris Woakes and Jake Ball have also been recalled into the team. For the Windies, Jason Holder will be the captain and he will have the services of experienced batsmen in Chris Gayle and Marlon. However, the big Jamaican is playing this format after two years.
As far as the conditions go, we feel that the Old Trafford wicket will favour the batsmen unless the weather is a bit cold and
gloomy. In this case, the seamers might get some help. On the weather front, there remains a threat of some rain as the match
progresses. However, a washout is not on the cards.
While the English will be packing their side with regular, match-winning all-rounders, the inexperience of the Windies middle order batsmen might haunt the visitors. For England, Jason Roy will be benched and Jonny Bairstow will partner Alex Hales at the top. But whether to include him in the Fantasy XI or not depends on multiple factors.
