Real Madrid
- Luka Modric is back following suspension for the home side, after serving a ban during the first leg at Camp Nou. He will replace Mateo Kovacic, who was taken off with a knock on Sunday.
- Cristiano Ronaldo misses out due to serving the first game of a five-match ban. The Portuguese star was booked twice in the Super Cup's first leg, before pushing the referee to earn himself another four games of punishment.
- Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema should retain their places up top as a result, but Marco Asensio will also be pushing for a start after impressing off the bench in Catalonia with a goal - especially as Isco recently had one day in training away from the rest of the group.
Barcelona
- Denis Suarez could come in on the left-hand side in place of Gerard Deulofeu for the away side, after he impressed in a second-half cameo during the first leg.
- Andres Iniesta has been ruled out with injury, which means Andre Gomes and Sergi Roberto will battle it out to replace the ageing playmaker in midfield for Barca. Paulinho is unlikely to play after joining the club this week.
- Nelson Semedo could potentially rotate in at right back in place of Aleix Vidal, but Ernesto Valverde isn't expected to rotate too much at all, as his side need to overturn a two-goal deficit.

Prediction
- Real Madrid have scored a goal in each of their last 67 competitive matches, and that run doesn't look set to end any time soon, especially after how many chances they created in the first half of this tie.
- After winning the European Super Cup against Manchester United, Zinedine Zidane could snare himself yet another trophy with even a 1-0 defeat against Barcelona on Wednesday. He is quickly becoming one of the most decorated coaches in his club's history.
- Barcelona will take heart from the fact that they managed to win the most recent El Clasico at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in a narrow 3-2 victory, but it will be a tough thing to replicate on Wednesday.
