Everton
- Ross Barkley faces up to three months on the sidelines after scan results revealed he will need surgery on a hamstring injury.
- Everton made Gylfi Sigurdsson the club's most expensive player of all-time in midweek and he will make his debut against Manchester City on Monday.
- Sandro Ramirez missed Thursday's Europa League match with a slight knock but will be fine to feature in Manchester.
- Ronald Koeman has the personnel to play a variety of formations so it remains to be seen whether Everton will line up in back three or back four.
Manchester City
- Ilkay GĆ¼ndogan returned to first team action after eight months out injured during Manchester City's 1-0 friendly defeat to Spanish side Girona at the start of the week. However, he isn't expected to feature competitively until after the international break.
- Benjamin Mendy has finally been able to train with his new City teammates but isn't ready to be selected just yet. The same is also true of Fabian Delph.
- Pep Guardiola played a 3-1-4-2 formation that enabled Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus to play up front together but it's almost impossible to predict how the City manager will line his team up on a weekly basis as he has so much attacking talent to keep happy.
- Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane were all substitutes against Brighton and will be pushing to start, but it remains to be seen where and at the expense of who.

Prediction
- Manchester City have had slightly more rest between games than Everton even though they jetted off to Spain to play a friendly against Girona at the start of the week. They will be looking to avenge the 4-0 drubbing they suffered the last time they played Everton.
- The Toffees have won all four of their opening matches and have not conceded a goal in that time, although three were in the Europa League against lesser opponents. This will be the real test for Ronald Koeman's men and his new squad.
- Both teams have scored in five of the last six meetings at the Etihad, which suggests Everton will concede for the first time this season. It could be an entertaining affair on Monday night.
Captain & Vice-Captain Options : Jesus, D Silva, S Aguero
