Overview 

The first match of the Deodhar Trophy will be played between India Red & India Green. Abhinav Mukund will be leading the Red team and Parthiv Patel has been named the skipper of the men in Green. 

This game will be played in Lucknow where conditions are expected to be warm. There is a chance of rain though on the second day. No international games have been played at this venue thus far. 

As far as team combination goes, most of these cricketers have played for India and have a chance of making the final 11 tomorrow. However, both teams might want to experiment. 

Karun Nair and R Samarth are back from the KPL and should be part of the playing 11.

IND RED- Mukund, Karthik, Rayudu, Pant, Jaggi/Panchal, Chatterjee, Thampi, Kulkarni, Gowtham, Sharma, Dinda/Milind

Dark Horses

Siraj- Had a great IPL. Then, enjoyed the tour of South Africa with the A side. He has pace and can be quite a handful. 

Gowtham- He is likely to lead the spin attack for Red and will have plenty of bowling to do in this game. Remember, he is a handy bat too down the order. 

Players who cannot be ignored 

Mukund- Should be opening the batting and as we have seen in domestic games, once he gets his eye in, he can really pile on the runs. 

Nair- Technically very sound and should occupy the middle order. We feel he is well equipped to score in Lucknow. 

Kulkarni- Has been one of the leading seamers in India's domestic circuit for a few years now. Will take the new ball and we expect him to be amongst the wickets. 

Cap & vice cap logic 

As you can see, we have picked 2 teams and our logic behind picking cap & vice cap as batsmen/keeper is simple. We feel the game is going to be dominated by the batters and although the spinners might get purchase, the seamers are unlikely to enjoy the conditions. Hence, we feel the batsmen could pile on the runs. Also, try picking the top order guys.
