Overview

After a resounding victory in the first match against Windies at Providence Stadium in Guyana, Bangladesh, unfortunately, couldn’t hold on to their ascendancy and slumped in the second encounter at the same venue. More than the defeat, Mashrafe Mortaza’s men would be disappointed for the reason that they allowed the home team to make a comeback after getting them by the scruff of their necks.

Sabbir Rahman is the only one with a questionable position in the side, having so far made just 15 runs in the two matches. But the reserve batsmen - Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Liton Das - are not prepared or seen as middle-order finishers. Unless the team management wants to risk picking Shanto, Sabbir will keep playing.

Probable 11

Overview

Bangladesh once again proved that ODI format is their comfort zone as they defeated Windies by 48 runs in the first of the 3-match ODI series. The visiting side was well behind the Caribbean during the Test series but made the difference straight away after the change in format.

Despite a big defeat, there is very less about which Windies could tinker towards their playing combination. All-rounder Rovman Powell, who didn’t bowl an over and bagged a duck in first ODI, could be replaced with a specialist batsman. They might also eye on getting in Keemo Paul who could be handy with his pace under lights.

Bangladesh wouldn’t like to change the winning combination but bringing Liton Das could give them some extra freedom for Tamim Iqbal to build the innings. Liton is known for playing his shots upfront, could come in place of Anamul Haque, who bagged a duck in the first ODI.

Probable 11

Overview

There's little to suggest the joyride won't continue on Sunday, but only a performance of Fakhar's kind again can elicit the same level of interest.

Zimbabwe don't have too many options on the bench that are likely to make a difference, or they'd have tried them out by now. They have lost with each combination they tried, evry game more convincingly than the last. They may make one or two changes, but a change in the result would be one of the upsets of the year.

Pakistan played two combinations across four games, and have played nearly every batting reserve on the bench other than Mohammad Hafeez and Haris Sohail - who had to return home after his daughter's illness. Mohammad Nawaz is the only bowler unused throughout the ODIs. There is a chance Hafeez and Nawaz could be given a chance, but Pakistan are doing so well anything they do looks like it might come off.

Probable 11

PAK- Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik/Mohammad Hafeez, Asif Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Yasir Shah/Mohammad Nawaz, Junaid Khan/Mohammad Amir/Hasan Ali, Usman Khan.

ZIM-  Hamilton Masakadza, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Tarisai Musakanda, Ryan Murray, Peter Moor/Prince Masvaure, Liam Roche/E Chigumbura,C Chigumbura, Donald Tiripano, T Chatara, Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarbani, Richard Ngarava/T Chisoro.

Players to watch
Azam, Zaman, Usman

Overview

Sri Lanka and South Africa will lock horns in the second and final Test match of the series at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. The visitors have all the running to do in this game as they are lagging behind after losing the first game with an abject surrender while facing quality spin bowling. A similar kind of pitch awaits them and they will have to fight their inner demons to come out on top against the island nation who are looking a formidable unit even in the absence of their regular Dinesh Chandimal.

There is no need for the hosts to tinker with their winning combination. Their opener Dimuth Karunaratne made a come back with a stunning performance in Galle. But the team management will be expecting more from the other batsmen as well this time around.

The bowling attack will be led by none other than Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera supported him excellently. Lakshan Sandakan is expected to retain his place and Suranga Lakmal continues to be the lone pacer in the line-up.

The visitors might consider bringing in an extra batsman for this game at the expense of Vernon Philander who struggled for the most parts in Galle. Theunis de Bruyn or Heinrich Klaasen is likely to replace him. There is also a possibility of Shaun von Berg to get a debut who will be the third spinner and can bat a bit as well. Their batsmen should somehow find a way to tackle the spinners which will make life easy for them eventually.

Probable 11

SL- Dimuth Karunaratne, Danushka Gunathilaka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Roshen Silva, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Dilruwan Perera, Rangana Herath, Suranga Lakmal, Lakshan Sandakan.

SA-  Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Faf du Plessis (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Theunis de Bruyn/Heinrich Klaasen/Shaun von Berg, Keshav Maharaj, Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi/Shaun von Berg.

Overview

The eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is nearing the playoffs and has a handful of matches remaining in the league stage. However, apart from the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the remaining qualifiers are yet to be decided. Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals are in the race for a berth in the top-four and will be pitted against each other tomorrow at the Eden Gardens.

KKR are likely to go unchanged for the all-important encounter. Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine remain as their openers. Robin Uthappa hasn’t been in the best of nicks and needs to fire. Dinesh Karthik, Kolkata’s leading run scorer, have to come to the party as well. Moreover, Andre Russell’s power-hitting abilities will be one to watch out for. Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana have a job to their bit.

The Royals are highly unlikely to make changes to their eleven. Jos Buttler will be keen to get his sixth half-century on the trot or even more, such has been his form. D’Arcy Short hasn’t had an overwhelming campaign thus far. Ajinkya Rahane looked good against MI but would be disappointed having not been able to see his team home. Sanju Samson and Krishnappa Gowtham are the in-form batsmen.

Probable 11

KKR- Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Nitish Rana, Shubman Gill, Andre Russell, Javon Searles, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna/S Mavi.

RR-  D’Arcy Short/Ish Sodhi, Jos Buttler, Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Stuart Binny, Jofra Archer, Krishnappa Gowtham, Shreyas Gopal/Aryaman Birla/Prashant Chopra, Jaydev Unadkat, Dhawal Kulkarni.

Overview

The Delhi Daredevils (DD) have already been eliminated from the tournament and can’t progress to the playoffs even with victories in all their remaining matches. From a personal front, they only have pride to play for. However, the Daredevils have the opportunity to play spoilsport to the qualification chances of the other teams.

The Daredevils now can afford to make some changes in their squad. Glenn Maxwell might open with Prithvi Shaw. Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant have been in prime touch and they are likely to remain in their respective slots. Naman Ojha, who hasn’t played thus far, might come into the eleven. Vijay Shankar is expected to bat next in the lineup.

In the bowling department, they could make a couple of changes as well. Sandeep Lamichhane, the leg-break bowler from Nepal, is in line to get his maiden opportunity in the cash-rich tournament. Junior Dala might also be drafted in place of Liam Plunkett. Trent Boult remains their strike bowler. Shahbaz Nadeem and Amit Mishra are the other bowlers.

There are a few possible changes in the batting lineup for the next game. Quinton de Kock, who didn’t play the last two matches, might return to the squad and open with Parthiv Patel. Virat Kohli isn’t well and hence, might be ruled out of the playing eleven. AB de Villiers will have to deliver for RCB to keep their hopes of qualification alive. Colin de Grandhomme and Mandeep Singh’s role will also be crucial.

Tim Southee and Umesh Yadav have been stupendous and need to display the same touch against DD as well. Yuzvendra Chahal has been a touch erratic this season and needs to find his rhythm, being one of the strike bowlers of the team. Mohammad Siraj was excellent in the last match. Moreover, Murugan Ashwin should also come into the eleven.

Probable 11

DD- Prithvi Shaw, Gautam Gambhir/Naman Ojha/Colin Munro, Glenn Maxwell/Gurkeerat Singh Mann/Manjot Kalra, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Vijay Shankar, Sandeep Lamichhane, Shahbaz Nadeem/Jayant Yadav, Junior Dala, Harshal Patel, Trent Boult.

RCB-  Quinton de Kock/Brendon McCullum, Parthiv Patel, Pavan Deshpande/Sarfaraz Khan/Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Mandeep Singh, Colin de Grandhomme, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj, Murugan Ashwin/Washington Sundar.

Players to watch
Pant, Iyer, ABD

Overview

It will be a historic moment for Ireland Cricket when their 11 players will walk out on the field in the whites to make their debut in the longest format of the game. Sarfraz Ahmed led Pakistan are their opponents in the one-off Test who landed in the UK early to get acclimatised to the conditions. Even, The Village, in Dublin will make its international Test debut as the crowd is expected to fill in the Stadium more in excitement. However, the Irish boys would be eager to prove themselves by fighting it out as the visitors are obviously the favourites in this contest.

It is tough to predict the line-up of the hosts but Andy Balbirnie is expected to open the innings along with Porterfield. Paul Stirling bats in the middle-order for Middlesex in the County cricket and he might continue playing at the same position at the international level as well. The likes of Ed Joyce and Niall O’Brien lend stability to the team with their excellent technique. Kevin O’Brien is the all-rounder in the side who will bat at number 7.

The bowling attack is experienced enough with the presence of Tim Murtagh (210 first-class matches) and Boyd Rankin who has played for England previously at the highest level. Andy McBrine is the only spinner in the squad and will most likely get a look in as well.

Sarfraz Ahmed announced the playing XI of Pakistan ahead of the game and cleared that they will go in with the same team which defeated Northamptonshire in the practice game. Imam-ul-Haq is set to make a Test debut at the top of the order for Pakistan now and he will open the innings along with Azhar Ali. While Haris Sohail has been entrusted with the crucial number 3 spot, Asad Shafiq and Babar Azam will follow him. Pakistan are going in with 6 specialist batsmen and have picked Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf as all-rounders.

Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Abbas and Rahat Ali is the pace bowling attack as they will also be assisted by Faheem. Shadab Khan will be excited to play this game following his exploits in the practice match recently.

Probable 11

PAK- Azhar Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Abbas, Rahat Ali.

IRE- William Porterfield, Andy Balbirnie, Ed Joyce, Niall O’Brien, Paul Stirling, Gary Wilson, Kevin O’Brien, Tim Murtagh, Andy McBrine, Boyd Rankin, Stuart Thompson.
